Варсенал современных научных исследований прочно вошло

понятие «постиндустриальное общество», и вектор мирового социально-экономического развития таков, что круг постиндустриальных стран будет расширяться. Эта перспектива требует целенаправленных и высокоорганизованных усилий государства, которому с помощью законодательных мер придется преодолевать инерцию прежнего жизненного уклада. Неотъемлемой чертой нового общества является превращение науки в решающий фактор развития. Было бы правильно подчеркнуть это обстоятельство, в том числе по отношению к юридической науке. Для Института законодательства и сравнительного правоведения при Правительстве Российской Федерации (ИЗиСП) — это одна из методологических посылок.

Предлагаемая читателю книга — итог научной конференции, приуроченной ко дню рождения видного американского социолога Д. Белла, отношение к которому в академической среде никогда не было однозначным.

Белл является автором особой социологической категории — «осевого принципа», с помощью которого он демонстрировал, что общественные институты и отношения, духовные процессы не обус­ ловлены каким-либо определенным фактором. Именно данный принцип встретил несогласие в среде советских философов, которые полагали, что таким образом Д. Белл возвращает социальную жизнь к домарксистскому хаосу, дискредитирует учение о базисе и надстройке, пытаясь увековечить капиталистический строй (оценка П.С. Гуревича1).
